A female student was reportedly molested inside Jadavpur University Campus in Kolkatta a few weeks back. A student's protest at the University transformed to a mass citizen's protest not just on the streets of Kolkata, but all over the country.
#Hokkolorob, a war cry has become synonymous with the protest, meaning “hallabol” or “let there be noise” - a mass protest questioning a system that uses violence on the students and cannot secure the well-being of the youth.
